Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, met today, August 11, 2025, at the government headquarters in New Alamein City, with Eng. Mohamed Obaidi, Chairman of the General Authority for the Golden Triangle Economic Zone, to follow up on a number of the Authority's work files. At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed that this meeting comes within the framework of keenness to follow up on the role of the General Authority for the Golden Triangle Economic Zone in developing this promising region, which receives special attention from the state, in light of its strategic components for implementing various projects that support the state's sustainable development plans. During the meeting, Eng. Mohamed Obaidi reviewed the status of the work carried out by the General Authority for the Golden Triangle Economic Zone during the past period, noting that regarding the Authority's internal organization, several measures have been taken, including restructuring the new Board of Directors of the Golden Triangle and its sub-committees, establishing a special commercial registry office for the Authority to register companies, developing the Authority's headquarters in Safaga City, and fulfilling a number of regulations, procedures, and commercial agreement forms. During his presentation, the Chairman of the General Authority for the Economic Zone added that, with regard to the business development and promotion axis, a number of measures have been taken, including an agreement with one of the largest local and international industrial developers to develop an industrial zone whose activities focus on phosphate fertilizers. He also communicated with regional and international groups of major developers in the sectors targeted by the Authority to establish and develop a number of specialized zones, in addition to attracting local and international developers and investors to invest in the industrial, agricultural, and logistics sectors. Eng. Mohamed Obaidi also presented details of the Golden Triangle Economic Zone Development Action Plan for the year 2025/2026, noting that the Authority aims to achieve financial sustainability this year while achieving its objectives without imposing any financial burdens on the state. He noted that it is planned to finalize all regulations and procedures and complete the Authority's administrative structure, in addition to finalizing contracts with a number of global companies and developers currently being attracted to invest in various sectors.
